Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the difference between Beyond Zero Surfaces and engineered stone?

The key difference between Beyond Zero Surfaces and engineered stone lies in the materials used and their environmental impact. Beyond Zero Surfaces are made from recycled glass, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional engineered stone, which is primarily composed of 90-95% quartz mixed with resin and other additives. While both surfaces are durable, Beyond Zero Surfaces are non-porous, eco-friendly, and contribute to reducing waste, making them a greener choice for those looking to minimize their environmental footprint. Engineered stone, on the other hand, typically has a higher quartz content and may involve more energy-intensive manufacturing processes.

Q2: Where can i use your products?

Our products are versatile and can be used in a variety of applications. They are perfect for kitchen benchtops, bathroom vanities, and splashbacks, offering both style and durability. Beyond Zero Surfaces are also suitable for commercial spaces, such as office countertops, cafes, and retail environments. With their eco-friendly composition and high-performance characteristics, they are an ideal choice for both residential and commercial projects where a sustainable, low-maintenance surface is needed.

Q3: Where can i find the Safety Data Sheet that provides all testing results for Beyond Zero Surfaces?

The safety data sheet showing testing results for Beyond Zero Surfaces can be downloaded from the RHF Stone website’s download page. Alternatively, you can contact the RHF Stone office directly to request the testing documents.

Q4: Can i get a quote?

RHF Stone Beyond Zero Surfaces is a wholesale company, we do not sell direct to public or to do any quotations. However, our team is delighted to direct you to your nearest fabrication company can assist your quotation.

Q5: Can i buy direct from you?

We operate as a wholesale supplier and do not sell directly to the public. To purchase our materials, you must go through your selected stonemason. Similarly, cabinet makers and builders are required to place orders through their appointed stone fabricator.

Q6: How can i care for my new stone surface?

Caring for your RHF Stone surface is simple and requires minimal maintenance. For daily cleaning, use a soft cloth with warm soapy water, then rinse and dry to maintain its pristine appearance. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or high-pH cleaners, as they may damage the surface. Always use trivets or heat-resistant pads for hot cookware and cutting boards to prevent potential damage. With these easy-care practices, your benchtop will stay beautiful and durable for years to come.

Q7: What is the durability of RHF Stone products?

RHF Stone surfaces are designed for durability and everyday use, offering strong resistance to cracks, chips, scratches, and stains. However, they are not immune to damage. To keep your benchtop in top condition, avoid exposing it to excessive force, heavy impacts, extreme pressure, or direct high heat, as these may compromise the integrity of the surface. With proper care, your benchtop will maintain its beauty and performance for years to come.

Q8: Does RHF Stone have a stone cleaner i can purchase?

Yes, RHF Stone offers a specially formulated stone cleaner designed to keep your benchtop looking its best. Our cleaner is safe, effective, and pH-neutral, ensuring gentle yet thorough cleaning without damaging the surface. It helps maintain the beauty and longevity of your RHF Stone benchtop while providing a streak-free finish. Contact us to purchase or learn more about our recommended cleaning solutions.

Q9: Is your product stain resistant?

Yes, RHF Stone is highly stain resistant. Our surfaces are non-porous, meaning they do not absorb liquids, making them resistant to common stains from coffee, wine, oils, and other household spills. With proper care andcleaning, RHF Stone maintains its pristine appearance for years, offering a durable and low-maintenance solution for your benchtops. However, exposure to high-pH chemicals, bleach, or strong acids can damage the surface. To preserve the integrity and longevity of your RHF Stone benchtop, we recommend using pH-neutral cleaners and avoiding harsh chemical agents.

Q10: Can i put a hot pot or pan directly on the benchtop?

Hot pots and pans should never be placed directly on the stone surface. We always recommend using a stand or trivet to protect your benchtop. Generally, if the heat is too intense for your hand to touch, it is too hot to place directly on the RHF Stone surface.

Q11: Can i cut on my benchtop?

RHF Stone Beyond Zero Surfaces is scratch-resistant; however, we recommend using a cutting board to protect the surface. While the material is durable, prolonged use of knives or other sharp objects directly on the benchtop may cause wear over time. Using a cutting board helps maintain the integrity and appearance of your surface.

Q12: Do i need to rebuff the benchtop?

No, rebuffing is not necessary. Regular everyday cleaning with a warm soapy cloth, followed by rinsing and drying, is all that’s needed to keep your Beyond Zero Surfaces looking like new.

Q13: Does Beyond Zero Surfaces need sealing?

No, Beyond Zero Surfaces do not require sealing. The non-porous nature of the material ensures it remains resistant to stains and does not need additional sealing or maintenance.

Q14: Can your products be used outdoors?

RHF Stone is not recommended for outdoor use. While RHF Stone Beyond Zero Surfaces is durable and weather-resistant, the resin-based material is more susceptible to UV damage. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause visible colour changes over time, making it less suitable for outdoor environments compared to standard stone products. If used in an outdoor environment, the RHF Stone Beyond Zero Surfaces 10 Year Limited Warranty is not applicable as our stone is not UV ray approved.

Q15: Can we use RHF Stone on my fireplace?

RHF Stone Beyond Zero Surface is tested and certified to withstand heat up to 120°C, making it suitable for decorative use around fireplaces. However, it should never be placed directly inside a firebox. Always consult the fireplace manufacturer to ensure that the maximum heat levels are compatible with the surface to avoid any potential damage.

Q16: Can your products be used in a BBQ area?

Yes, our products can be used in a BBQ area, but it’s important to ensure they are not exposed to direct flame or extreme heat. While RHF Stone Beyond Zero Surfaces are heat-resistant up to 120°C, prolonged exposure to high temperatures from a BBQ or grill can cause damage. We recommend using heat-resistant pads or trivets to protect the surface and ensure its longevity in outdoor cooking spaces. This surface is not suitable for prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or UV rays, which may cause fading or damage. Fabricators, installers and customers must account for this during planning and installation. Any issues resulting from direct sunlight exposure are not covered under warranty.

Q17: Can Beyond Zero Surfaces be fabricated in one piece for an ‘L’ shape surface space?

No, we do not recommend fabricating Beyond Zero Surface in one piece for L-shaped areas. Doing so can lead to movement caused by thermal expansion. To ensure the surface remains stable and durable, it’s recommended to use a joint in these areas. RHF Stone Beyond Zero Surfaces 10 Year Limited Warranty is not applicable if it is installed outside these requirements.

Q18: If i require a thicker edging profile on my benchtop, is this doable?

Yes, a thicker edging is possible. RHF Stone in Australia comes in a standard thickness of 20mm, but you can work with your fabrication company to discuss and arrange for a custom thickness that suits your project’s requirements.

Q19: Is the joining visible?

RHF Stone is the stone supplier for your project, and we do not install or fabricate. You will need to consult with the fabrication company for your installation and fabrication.

Q21: I have a crack on my benchtop, is it covered by warranty?

RHF Stone does not generally cover cracking under the warranty. This type of damage is typically caused by fabrication or installation errors, or from mechanical stress, and does not indicate a defect in the product itself

Q22: If i have a product installed that is banned, is it still covered by your warranty?

Yes, all products come with a 10-year limited warranty, and any changes or bans on the product do not affect the warranty coverage.
